What we believe.

Build Portfolio is an institution for ethical technology. We Build Together is the public benefit corporation within Build Portfolio that operates mission initiatives. The manifesto below is the institutional foundation. The principles we foreground here, the four principles below, reflect the public-benefit emphasis of We Build Together's work.

For humanity.

Our work serves people. Not platforms. Not abstractions. Not the attention economy. The communities we serve are real, the neighbors we serve are real, the workers and patients and farmers and fire departments and election offices we serve are real. The institutional posture is in service of them.

For this planet.

Our work respects the land. The Restoration Trust is the most direct expression of this principle, but every initiative is being designed with ecological awareness: the Provisions Cooperative's relationship to growing land and water, the Neighbor Reserve's relationship to climate-driven disasters, the Care Exchange's relationship to environmental health. We do not greenwash. We do not promise carbon offsets. We do real restoration work, honestly measured.

For posterity.

We do not optimize for the present quarter, the current administration, the loudest constituency in the funding environment. We design for institutions that will still be operating their missions in the year MMC. The structural mechanisms, federated chapters, diversified funding, mission codification, adversarial governance, are in service of posterity.

Operational, not aspirational.

We are an institution that runs operating systems. We do not write thought leadership. We do not host conferences. We do not issue position papers. We coordinate food, restore land, organize mutual aid, match clinical capacity, support civic institutions, and train workers. The work speaks. The institution holds.
